Wolf Gorges
Tourrettes sur Loup |
On Monday June 23 we headed into the arrière pays, or back-country, region in the hills behind the Côte d'Azur. We spent the day driving around the Gorges du Loup, a large gorge that traces a path between a half-dozen or so small villages. Tourrettes sur Loup is known for growing a lot of violets, which are used in making perfume. In Gourdon we found a neat shop selling lots of scented soaps. A whole wall was covered with a display rack of scented soaps that were all made in the upstairs of the shop. |
