Drove through Grand Teton National Park. Full day of driving.

Went to Antelope Island this morning and waded into the water up to my knees. Would have gone all the way [in],but the water never seemed to get deeper. Swarms of brine flies covered the shoreline, making it black. They are pretty neat once you get over the fact that you're surrounded by thousands of insects. When you walk into the water they fly out of the way, forming a living tide receding at your approach. The island itself is desert-like, preserved in a more or less natural and undeveloped state. The arid mountains against the lake are amazing.
